A combination of quality products, relevant product training, and the promise of 24/7 on-site technical support won the deal, and now means that the AVK Group is taking part in the journey of safe gas supply in Abu Dhabi.
Shifting towards safer and more sustainable supply
In January 2019, ADNOC undertook the development of the City Gas Network Project’s phase 2, in the main areas of Abu Dhabi. An extensive project, that is estimated to be as much as US$ 80m; contracted value US$ 60m.The project aims to lay 68 kilometres of natural gas distribution pipeline network (4 bar) in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and involves the installation of fibre optics, cathodic protection works, a SCADA system as well as associated facilities with civil and mechanical works. The main focus of the project is to replace the existing liquid petroleum gas and compressed natural gas cylinders in the city.
Phase 2 initiated
PETROJET (The Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Co.) won the project contract back in 2019, and is led by project manager Mr. Obai Shahien. it is due for completion by December 2023. The scope of work in the second phase includes design, construction, operation, maintenance, communication network and emergency activities - including high pressure gas pipelines and natural gas distribution network. The gas will end up at residential, commercial and industrial customers' appliances across the Emirates, a population of about 1,5 M. Strong relationships with both EPC Contractors and a proven track record in the region opened a wide array of doors for the key supply and testing of PE Fittings from the Fusion Group as well as PE Ball Valves from AVK Syntec.A breakthrough project, especially for Fusion Group
Staying true to the AVK cornerstones of serving our customers locally, offering full-line partnership as well as a single entry point, Raj Nair (AVK Watecom) and Adam Tkacz (Fusion Group) carried out a number of presentations and meetings with ADNOC & PETROJET.
ADNOC’s chief requirement was a customised packaged solution, and the recommendations from AVK included PE Solutions (PE ball valves and fittings) along with product training and 24/7 on-site local and technical support. The combination of an overall solution, and not solely products, won the deal.
Winning the deal was the result of the combined effort of our entire team, solid know-how and decades of experience. A factory acceptance test and inspection were successfully carried out for the PE ball valves by ADNOC, leaving an lasting impression of AVK’s high quality products and processes.
